Fifth day into this strange world without Mountain Dew. Everything seems a lot slower. Time seems to go by a pace of snail. I think I consumed my last Mountain Dew on Tuesday before I took on this fast. So far, it has been interesting. I have tried to substitute Mountain Dew with other sodas like Coca-Cola or Crush. That didn't work at all. I tried drinking Red Bulls and SoBe, but those things taste so awful. I don't just drink Mountain Dew for the caffeine. I drink it because I love the taste of it on my tongue.

The reason for all this. The fast, I mean, is because my dad is trying to quit smoking. He's been smoking for most of his life and I find that it is a valiant effort to try and stop. So rather than indulging myself on Mountain Dew while he's trying to quit, I would try to put myself into the same mindset as him. He's still smoking, but not as much as he has. He's on the patch at this moment. I wonder if they have a Mountain Dew Patch or Mountain Dewaholics Anonymous.

"Hi. My name is Sam and I'm Mountain Dewaholic."

The first step is to admit you have a problem.

Another reason is because I don't want to depend upon Mountain Dew like something I can kick back on. I realize I drink a lot of Mountain Dew, but that can't be helped. I'm thoroughly addicted.

Is it odd that I actually miss Mountain Dew? As far back as I can remember, I have drunk Mountain Dew. Most of the time, people aren't shocked by the fact that I have some amount of Mountain Dew nearby. Have I grown that attached to this green liquid? It is funny to see the expressions upon people's faces when I tell them I'm on a Mountain Dew fast. You'd think the world was going to end by the look on their faces.

But I think I leave you hanging right here. So, chiao.
